About The Position

New England Orthopedic Surgeons (NEOS) is a premier physician-owned orthopedic and sports medicine practice headquartered in Springfield, MA. We are seeing a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient rehabilitation team in Springfield. An ideal candidate is compassionate, motivated and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary orthopedic clinic dedicated to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care. As a PTA at NEOS, you’ll play a key role in helping patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve function following injury or surgery. We welcome both experienced PTAs and recent graduates with a passion for musculoskeletal rehabilitation and functional recovery.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
  • Current Massachusetts PTA license in good standing (Required)
  • Experience in an orthopedic, sports medicine, or outpatient physical therapy setting preferred
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and patient documentation systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations
  • CPR/BLS certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support for therapeutic exercise programs, neuromuscular re-education, and functional mobility training under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT)
  • Assist in the delivery of post-operative rehabilitation, sports injury recovery, and chronic condition management
  • Document daily treatment notes, update progress reports, and communicate patient status with the care team in compliance with HIPAA and clinical guidelines
  • Ensure proper use of therapeutic modalities (e.g., ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot/cold packs) as prescribed
  • Educate patients on home exercise programs (HEP) and activity modifications to support ongoing recovery
  • Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care and scheduling
