About The Position

Homewood Therapy 18460 Governors Hwy Homewood, Illinois 60430 Physical Therapy Assistant Outpatient - Homewood Location (18460 Governors Highway) NEW GRAD WELCOMES Competitive Salary and Benefits The Physical Therapy Assistant I is responsible to the Department Director and supervising Physical Therapist to provide treatment to the patient prescribed by the physician within the guidelines of the Physical Therapy Practice Act and hospital and departmental policies and procedures. This position implements the plan of care to restore and enhance performance. This position also performs documentation and quality improvement as outlined in departmental policies and procedures. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Patient Care: • Performs comprehensive physical therapy treatment and related follow-up services including discharge planning. • Trains and educates patients, family members and/or others to ensure understanding of treatment plan and goals. • Provides physical therapy, including selection and use of assistive equipment. • Reports patient progress and collaborates with evaluating therapist to implement the therapy plan of care. Patient Records and Charges: Documents and submits patient reports and charges within the established timeframe. Coordination of Care Collaboration: Collaborates with patient and other healthcare personnel or outside agencies regarding coordination of care. Supervises Rehab Techs.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree accredited physical therapy assistant program
  • Physical Therapy Experience Required 1 year
  • Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) - State Licensing Board
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - American Heart Association
