About The Position

Harrison County Hospital is seeking to hire a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant. Position available: Full-time, Days, M-F plus one Saturday per month, 36 hrs/wk The role of the Physical Therapy Assistant is to assess, plan, and implement patient/family/caregiver physical therapy needs and treatments for patients aged neonate/infant (birth to 1 year), pediatric (1-12 years), adolescent (12-18), adult (18-65 years), and geriatric (over 65 years); and maintain documentation on services provided to patient/family/caregiver. Addresses educational needs for patients, families, and other health care providers; manages patient care assignments as well as other organizational tasks related to patient and departmental operations; acts in a clinical leadership role; applies knowledge of growth and development in patient interactions. Requirements

  • Associate Degree from an accredited program in Physical Therapy Assistants
  • Passing of the National Physical Therapy Examination for Physical Therapy Assistants
  • License to practice in the state of Indiana
  • Associate of Science degree in Physical Therapy from accredited program
  • Standard therapy modalities as listed in specific disciplines procedures
  • Computer operational skills
  • Time management skills
  • Self motivated and directed
  • Multi-task capability
  • Communication skills
  • Limited analytical and problem solving skills
  • Tact and diplomacy in dealing with others
  • Exhibits communication skills necessary to interpret response to situations/treatments encountered in Rehab Medicine
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all age groups in Rehab Medicine
  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively with all patients and staff members in Rehab Medicine
