About The Position

This position treats patients in a variety of modalities, educate the family/patient, and assures continuity of treatment. Responsible for all necessary documentation as required by accepted medical guidelines.
This position works under the supervision of the Registered Physical Therapist and is employed by Heartland Long Term Acute Care Hospital.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Licensed in state of Missouri.
• Heartsaver certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Treats patients using a variety of modalities and procedures under treatment plan formulated by a Registered Physical Therapist.
• Provides patient/family education.
• Documents patients’ response to treatment program, communicates with physicians, Physical Therapist, and other interdisciplinary team members, and inputs charges as appropriate.
• Participates in staff meetings, family conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Participates in continual process improvement.
