Position Summary The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides physical therapy services to individuals in Hope Network Neuro Rehabilitation programs under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role supports treatment plans designed to improve mobility, joint range of motion, wheelchair positioning, and overall functional independence. The PTA works directly with patients, provides education to patients and caregivers, and monitors patient progress and safety.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Active or eligible Michigan PTA licensure and valid NPI number
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to maintain CEUs for licensure

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with adults with neurological disabilities or traumatic brain injury (TBI)
  • Experience using EMR systems for documentation

Responsibilities

  • Deliver physical therapy treatments based on plans developed by a licensed Physical Therapist
  • Assist with functional mobility training, joint range of motion, wheelchair positioning, orthotic support, and assistive equipment training
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate concerns related to safety or environmental barriers
  • Document treatment notes in the EMR in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team on care coordination and discharge planning
  • Educate patients, families, and staff on therapy techniques and equipment use
  • Participate in team meetings and support training of PTA students after one year of employment
