More about our team: North Kansas City Hospital is 48-bed Acute Rehab Unit (ARU) located in NKC Health Main Hospital Building. Our Unit is a very fast-paced yet fun environment with endless opportunities to learn and grow! We have an amazing team with over 25 FT therapists! What we're looking for: We are looking for a dynamic Physical Therapist Assistant who is passionate about helping others and is a team player!
Requirements
- Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current and unrestricted Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state where services are rendered
- Associate's degree Required; Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required
- Current CPR certification
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 30 days of hire Required Skills
Responsibilities
- Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapists using appropriate modalities.
- Seeks consultation as necessary.
- Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.
- Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
- Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
- Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
- Assists with patient discharge planning.
- Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
