Position Overview: Administers treatments and physical agents as directed by the Director of Physical Therapy Services after the physical therapist has evaluated the patient. The Physical Therapy Assistant helps with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. Helps patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The Physical Therapy Assistant takes part in operational aspects of the department, supports performance improvement activities within the department, and takes part in QI activities. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety, and fire safety programs. The ideal candidate is friendly, caring, and people-oriented, while also being organized, dependable, and firm when necessary — balancing empathy with clear communication and professional boundaries.
