Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Physical Therapist Assistant license.

Responsibilities

  • Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in accordance with PT Board guidelines.
  • Assist in maintaining the department's functionality.
  • Participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences as needed.
  • Help with the cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.
  • Implement treatment plans as prescribed by the physician.
  • Assist the nursing department with training restorative aides.
  • Communicate with the supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, issues, and plans.
  • Participate in in-service training programs for other staff members.
  • Record any changes to treatment as per policy and procedures.
  • Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services.
  • Report any issues with departmental equipment to ensure proper maintenance.
