About The Position

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) PRN position at ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Rio Rancho is designed for dedicated clinicians who are passionate about providing exceptional patient-centered care. This role involves assisting licensed Physical Therapists in delivering physical therapy services to patients recovering from injuries or illnesses, with a focus on restoring function, improving mobility, and preventing disabilities. The PTA will work on a PRN basis, providing care as needed while integrating the hospital's values into daily practice.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant required.
• One year of direct patient care experience in a rehabilitation hospital setting preferred.
• Basic Life Support/CPR Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapist in determining patient abilities and/or limitations in establishing treatment goals.
• Complete documentation of patient status/progress for assigned patients under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
• Report observations of patient performance to the Physical Therapist.
• Provide age-related and culturally sensitive delivery of patient care services.
• Collaborate with the patient, team members, and area staff during the rehabilitation process to ensure quality care.
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team on patient needs, treatment modifications, and progress.
• Assist in safe and efficient management and maintenance of the therapy program areas, equipment, and supplies.
• Comply with quality control, safety, infection, and emergency procedures consistent with hospital policy.
