About The Position

The lab assistant will provide lab support to the staff and faculty of the PTA program. This position will encompass the Fall 2025 semester as well as January 2026 to train the replacing lab assistant.

Requirements

• MWSU Student
• Degree Seeking
• At least an overall 2.0 GPA
• Enrolled at least part-time (6+ hours)
• Currently enrolled in the second year of the PTA program
• May need to qualify for Federal Work Study

Nice To Haves

• Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the department.
• Student will need to be able to work independently.
• Student must possess ability to work well with MWSU students, faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

• Preparing in advance for the lab period.
• Assist instructor in setting up lab according to information provided by course instructor.
• Promote safety in the lab. Be alert to potential unsafe behaviors, practices, set-ups, and situations; reporting these to instructor.
• Maintain the lab, including doing laundry, cleaning areas around equipment used during the lab, return all equipment to proper place at the end of the lab period, and ensuring the lab is clean and well organized.
• Assist with other requests from instructor.
