About The Position

Under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist, as governed by the Board of PT for the State of Montana, the Physical Therapy assistant will assist the Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy services. It is expected that the physical therapy assistant will work within their scope of practice to provide exceptional customer service, quality patient care, and assist the Physical Therapist with technical and clerical aspects to ensure patient safety. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
  • Current Montana Physical Therapy Assistant License required.
  • Current BLS or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook email.
  • Previous knowledge of medical software such as Electronic Medical Records.
  • Proven problem-solving, analytical skills and organizational/time management skills required.
  • Commitment to communicate effectively and maintain cooperative relationships with providers, staff members, and patients.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with implementation and follow through of individualized patient treatment plans as set forth by the Physical Therapy/Director.
  • Adapts and progresses treatment program as appropriate and within scope of practice to achieve goals and expected outcomes.
  • Performs patient treatments according to established therapy standards and department policies and procedures.
  • Daily charting reflects therapy units billed and time frames associated with patient care.
  • Communicates professionally and timely, any and all concerns that need to be addressed by the Physical Therapist/Rehabilitation Director with other clinical staff.
  • If there is process improvement suggestions notify the Physical Therapy Director.
  • Demonstrates an ability to respond to changing workloads and patient conditions by remaining calm, making objective assessments, prioritizing, and asking for assistance when needed.
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.
