The Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant treats patients to maintain or restore maximum functional performance level. Under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist, the assistant administers physical therapy treatments appropriate to diagnosis and to APTA guidelines. This role involves documenting and charging for patient care services by charting in patient and department records according to federal, state, and local regulations. The assistant is also responsible for protecting patients, employees, and visitors by promoting infection-control and safety policies and protocols. Additionally, the position requires meeting productivity standards, ensuring the operation of equipment, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and reporting the need for repair to the supervisor. The assistant will also supervise Rehab Aides, other support staff, and students, along with performing other duties as assigned.
