About The Position
The Physical Therapy Aide position at ProActive Work Health Services in Lancaster, CA, is designed to support the delivery of physical therapy care. The aide plays a crucial role in preparing the treatment area, patients, equipment, and materials, while performing various procedures under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. This position is essential for ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care during their therapy sessions. The aide is responsible for preparing the treatment room according to prescribed procedures and protocols, ensuring that everything is in place for the therapist and the patient. This includes welcoming and comforting patients, assisting them into appropriate therapy apparel, and providing information to alleviate any fears or concerns they may have. The aide also plays an active role in the treatment process by applying heat packs, assisting with whirlpool treatments, and helping patients onto exercise equipment. Monitoring patient movements, tracking walking times and distances, and measuring mobility are also key responsibilities. In addition to direct patient care, the aide educates patients on the proper use of equipment and exercise routines, maintaining patient confidentiality and a safe working environment by adhering to established procedures and regulations. The aide is also responsible for the maintenance of physical therapy equipment, ensuring it is in good working order, and managing the inventory of supplies by checking stock levels and placing orders as necessary. Administrative duties, including scheduling patients, are also part of the role, making it a multifaceted position that requires both clinical and organizational skills.
