About The Position

St. Mary Medical Center is actively seeking a part time, Physical Therapy Aide to work at our Cornerstone Therapy location. St. Mary Physical Therapy at Cornerstone focuses on orthopedic and muscular rehabilitation. Experienced, certified therapists integrate evidence-based treatments, leading-edge technologies, and adaptive techniques to promote recovery from surgery, injury or degenerative disease, such as arthritis. Our off-campus expansion of physical therapies makes access to a quality rehabilitation program more convenient to the community. The PT Aide is a health team member whose primary functions are to perform designated tasks related to the operations of the Therapy Departments and to assist in patient treatment under the direct supervision of a Licensed Therapist/ Therapist Assistant. This person may assist in the treatment of acute care patients, and outpatients of all ages from neonate to geriatrics with a broad spectrum of diagnoses. Administers basic treatments such as moist heat/cold packs under the direct supervision of a Licensed/Certified Therapist and/or Assistant. Assists therapist in patient handling tasks while using safe body mechanics Assists patients in their established therapeutic exercise routine under the direct supervision of a Licensed/Certified Therapist and/or Assistant. Transports patients to/from therapy sessions. Completes daily temperature logs on required equipment and documents accurately. Reports any equipment malfunction through proper channels. Performs clerical duties as directed. Rotates through the various therapy areas and generally anticipates the needs of the therapists as it relates to the patient's care. Demonstrates competency via successful completion of annual departmental skills checklist. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required
2-4 years of experience preferred.
