About The Position

The Physical Therapy Aide provides supportive assistance to all department personnel in the delivery of rehabilitation services to patients of all ages to attain maximum outcomes.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous patient care experience helpful.
  • CPR required within 30 day of starting.
  • Organizational skills are required.
  • Patient care experience helpful.
  • Gives full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Actively looks for ways to help people, co-workers, and other departments.
  • Must have strong customer service skills
  • Communicate effectively as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Basic understanding of computer skills to order supplies, manipulate schedules, and assist with clerical duties.

Responsibilities

  • Transports patients to and from hospital therapy services as needed.
  • Assists with patient care in the clinic, satellite, patient room, or other off campus locations as requested by Rehabilitation staff.
  • Maintains department’s supplies and equipment; may recommend purchase of new items.
  • Greets and checks in all outpatients at off campus clinics
  • Prepares other treatment areas including but not limited to; setting up sterile dressing fields, treatment mats, etc…
  • Performs general clerical and housekeeping duties:
  • Scanning
  • General clerical duties as needed (copying, faxing, filing, etc.)
  • Answering phones
  • Scheduling
  • Supply ordering
  • Clinic cleanup, linen stocking/changing/ordering.
  • Maintains cleaning logs
  • Performs cleaning of hydrocollators and cold pack machines
  • Remains attentive to patient safety issues and to the need for maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Maintains patient/family confidentiality to comply with HIPPA regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Director, Managers, Team Leaders, and clinical staff.
  • Actively looks for ways to reduce costs.
