About The Position

The Physical Therapy Aide supports the physical therapy team by preparing patients and equipment for treatment, ensuring safe mobility assistance, and maintaining a clean, organized therapy environment. This position is essential to creating a positive patient experience and supporting the delivery of excellent rehabilitative care.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

Nice To Haves

Prior patient care or rehabilitation experience
Participation in continuing education or in-service training programs

Responsibilities

Assist physical therapists and physical therapist assistants during therapy sessions as directed.
Prepare patients and treatment areas before therapy begins.
Set up, clean, and store therapy equipment and supplies safely.
Observe and report patient performance and response to treatment to the supervising therapist.
Safely transport or assist patients with ambulation within inpatient and outpatient treatment areas.
Ensure patient safety through proper use of lifts, safety belts, and body mechanics.
Measure and adjust assistive devices such as crutches, walkers, or canes for proper patient fit.
Maintain department cleanliness and safety standards.
Assist in maintaining accurate patient schedules and documentation.
Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and staff.
Demonstrate professional phone etiquette and provide accurate messaging when needed.
