About The Position

The Physical Therapy Aide at Empower Manual Therapy plays an instrumental role in supporting our dynamic team of therapists, ensuring smooth operation and delivery of first-rate patient care. In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of licensed physical therapists to create a warm, supportive, and productive environment for patient treatment.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a physical therapy setting or other healthcare environment is an asset.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centric mindset.
  • Strong ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member, demonstrating professional work ethic and delivering high-quality work.
  • Must possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or be able and willing to obtain one within a specified period.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a physical therapy setting or other healthcare environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed physical therapists with various stages of patient care, including preparation, treatment, and recovery.
  • Prepare therapy rooms and set up therapy equipment precisely according to the therapist's instructions before patient sessions.
  • Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises under the direction of the physical therapist, modifying movements based on patient needs and therapist instruction.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment by adhering to policy, procedure and regulatory requirements, and also maintain cleanliness and orderliness of therapy equipment and supplies.
  • Provide feedback to physical therapists regarding patient responses and progress.
