Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy, receiving applicable degree in physical therapy study with Bachelors or Master’s Degree or equivalent.
  • Possession of a current license or eligibility to be licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of New York.
  • CPR certification within the first 3 months of hire

  • Master’s or Doctorate Degree
  • Previous physical therapy experience in a hospital-based setting.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients in an outpatient setting using evidence-based physical therapy techniques to improve mobility, reduce pain, and achieve functional goals.
  • Interpret medical referrals and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and clinical judgment.
  • Document patient care, treatment outcomes, and progress accurately in accordance with outpatient regulatory and billing standards.
  • Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and ongoing self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with referring providers and outpatient care teams to coordinate treatment and discharge planning.
  • Supervise and mentor Physical Therapist Assistants, students, and support staff as appropriate.
  • Participate in outpatient department performance improvement initiatives and maintain ongoing professional development.
  • Adhere to all outpatient clinic safety and infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene practices.
