Physical Therapists are responsible for leading patient care and supporting clinic success. This involves synthesizing patient information from various sources, diagnosing movement dysfunction through functional analysis and examinations, and developing individualized, evidence-based plans of care. Therapists will utilize interventions such as therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and biofeedback, while continuously evaluating and documenting patient progress. A key aspect is educating patients on their recovery process and ensuring adherence to care plans. Additionally, therapists are expected to connect with providers and local organizations to raise awareness of clinic therapies and ensure that as many patients as possible who need care are able to receive it. After the first year, clinical instruction of at least one student rotation per year in their specialty area is also required. The role aims to achieve a deep sense of teamwork, resulting in high-quality physical therapy and meaningful patient outcomes, often in partnership with other PTs and/or providers.
