About The Position

The Physical Therapist will function as the primary PT provider in a predominantly outpatient orthopedic setting, with periodic inpatient responsibilities. The PT will independently perform evaluations and implement treatment plans while supervising and co-signing documentation for a Physical Therapy Technician. The ideal candidate will demonstrate cultural sensitivity, professional conduct, strong documentation skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality clinical care in support of Native American patients and their families.

Requirements

  • Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
  • Active, unrestricted Physical Therapy license in a U.S. jurisdiction
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to successfully complete federal background checks and credentialing requirements
  • Immunization and TB testing as required for healthcare workers
  • Experience delivering outpatient orthopedic physical therapy care
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in Native American or rural healthcare settings
  • Familiarity with IHS or government clinical systems and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Serve as the sole PT with support from a PT tech
  • Supervise and co-sign PT Tech documentation as required
  • Communicate and collaborate with prescribing physicians regarding treatment plans, DME, orthotics, and referrals
  • Document care using paper charting and electronic health records systems
  • Provide patient, family, and caregiver education on treatment plans and exercises
  • Maintain compliance with professional standards, facility policies, and cultural sensitivity practices
  • Maintain and support a clean and organized therapy clinic environment
  • Participate in mandatory facility orientation and trainings
  • Demonstrate professionalism in dress, behavior, and patient interaction
