Physical Therapist – Oregon State Hospital, Salem Campus Effective Feb. 1, 2026, the compensation plan for this position will be increased to reflect a Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) of 2.5%. The salary listed in this posting does not reflect the COLA. NOTE: A current resume and cover letter are required to be considered for this position. The Physical Therapist is part of the Treatment Services department at the Oregon State Hospital and provides services and active treatment for patients admitted to the facility. Duties include providing person-centered recovery-focused physical rehabilitation services and standardized assessments by developing evidenced-based clinical interventions to meet individualized treatment needs. Requirements

  • A license from the Oregon Physical Therapist Licensing Board as a Physical Therapist; OR Completion of an accredited physical therapy educational program and eligibility to obtain an Oregon Physical Therapy license or temporary permit. At the time of appointment, must have at least a temporary permit.
  • Possession of a valid Physical Therapist license or other valid authorization issued by the Physical Therapy Licensing Board.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a healthcare facility working with patients with mental health challenges.
  • Demonstrated creativity and skill in developing, implementing, and modifying individualized treatment plans by assessing patients’ physical conditions, medical histories, and situational safety considerations.
  • Experience monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records of patient evaluations, treatment plans and progress notes.
  • Experience collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated patient care.
  • Experience working independently to manage caseload, prioritize workload, and adjust treatment approaches based on changing patient needs and clinical conditions.
