The Entry Level Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist I, reports to the Clinical Supervisor, Physical Therapy and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. This is the entry-level staff therapist position designed for the new graduate with less than 12 months experience as a licensed therapist. The Entry Level P.T. I works primarily with adult and geriatric patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, although pediatric and adolescent patients may also be treated. Under general direction and upon receipt of written referrals, the Entry Level P.T. I plans and administers a full range of physical therapy services for patients with a variety of physical and cognitive impairments and disabilities. Services include patient evaluations using physical therapy tests and measurements, establishment of therapeutic intervention goals and development of therapeutic intervention programs, and implementation of therapeutic intervention plans utilizing physical therapy modalities and procedures. The Entry Level Physical Therapist maintains all applicable patient records related to the delivery of patient care services. While performing job duties, the Entry Level P.T. I may also supervise support personnel including Registered Physical Therapist Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides as well as P.T. and P.T.A. students. The Entry Level P.T. actively participates in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, clinical education programs, and inservices and staff development activities. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $53.20 - $71.79 (Hourly Rate).
