About The Position
The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy skilled intervention to patients in an acute care hospital setting as a needed basis.
Requirements
- Licensed CA State Board Physical Therapist
- Current BLS certification
Responsibilities
- Performing comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for patients with various medical condictions, including post surgical, neurological, orthopedic, and general medical diagnoses.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patients goals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including therapeutic exercises, therapeutic activities, balance/coordination training and gait training.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans, home exercises, and safety measures.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and contribute to discharge planning.
- Document accurately all evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with hospital policies, and regulatory standards in a timely manner.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safe regulations, infection control protocols, and professional standards of practice.
- Provide coverage at least one weekend a month or more weekdays as the need arises, including holidays if required.
