About The Position

UVA Health Physical and Occupational Therapy is seeking a physical therapist for their practice in Charlottesville, VA. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough patient evaluations to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to specific conditions and goals. Implement evidence-based physical therapy interventions to promote recovery and improve patient outcomes. Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care. Educate patients and their families on therapy plans, exercises, and strategies to optimize recovery. Document patient progress accurately in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in physical therapy and participate in ongoing professional development. Assist in the development and implementation of injury prevention and wellness programs. Performs physical therapy examinations according to professional standards and departmental policy. Demonstrates knowledge of intervention options and executes a program of skilled physical therapy intervention. Actively participates in professional growth of self and others. Actively participates in quality improvement and program development. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT,) MPT or BS PT degree from an accredited program.
  • Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire patients throughout the recovery process.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing treatment plans.
  • Adaptability to work with diverse patient populations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
  • 6 months relevant experience
  • Licensed to practice in Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in orthopedic or sports physical therapy is preferred but not required.
  • NCS preferred
