Requirements

  • Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Active Physical Therapist license in practicing state.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support or CPR as per state regulations.
  • At least one year of physical therapy experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques for complex neurological injuries.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds; safely move/transfer patients up to 100 pounds.
  • Physical stamina: fine motor skills, visual acuity, extended standing/walking, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and positioning.
  • Health screenings or exams may be required per location or state policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Regularly reassess treatment plan effectiveness; attend staffing meetings and family conferences.
  • Conduct discharge evaluations, recommend home and community safety modifications, and provide referrals and educational resources.
  • Communicate patient needs and progress to the interdisciplinary team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes.
