About The Position

$5,000 Sign On Bonus for offers accepted by February 28, 2026. Terms and conditions apply. Weekend and holiday coverage. This position will work with both Acute Care Physical Therapy and Outpatient Physical Therapy. This is a day shift position and requires Saturday hours as well as holiday rotation. Work hours are 7:30am - 4:00pm. The Physical Therapist is primarily responsible for the delivery of physical therapy care to the patient population to which she/he is assigned and the recording of that care in the hospital medical record. The therapist acts as a consultant to various patient clinics, provides instruction to PT support staff, students, personnel of other disciplines within VCUHS, and patient and/or family members. Therapists may rotate through our various clinical service areas.

Requirements

• Licensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist
• Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist
• Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area
• New graduate to up to 2 years of work experience as a Physical Therapist
• Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy
• Schedules and work hours will be established with your specific Manager
• Schedules, including weekends and holidays, will be required based on the unit’s organizational and staffing needs

Nice To Haves

• Previous affiliation or work experience at a similar facility
• Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Physical Therapy

Responsibilities

• Patient evaluation and implementation of plan of care
• Discharge planning
• Ordering equipment
• Representing department at rounds and discharge conferences
• Scheduling and charging patients
• Supervisory responsibilities of Physical Therapist Assistants, Rehab Technicians, students, and volunteers
• Daily clinic problem solving
