About The Position

PHYSICAL THERAPIST 2. Pelvic Health & Musculoskeletal HMC Outpatient PT Clinic Under general supervision, assess, plan, administer, evaluate and provide safe physical therapy care. This will include progression of treatment goals and patient and family education. Collaborate with other disciplines as appropriate to coordinate continuity of patient care from admission to discharge, and implement treatment programs, which include the use of physical agents, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and functional training.

Requirements

  • Current Washington State license to practice as a Physical Therapist.
  • Persons legally authorized to work in the U.S. under federal law, including Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients, are eligible for employment unless prohibited by other state or federal law.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized school of physical therapy, or completion of a Physical Therapy program.
  • OR Equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of the disease process, precautions, typical medical treatment and diagnostic procedures, functional, abilities, complications and implications of long term deficits related to primary diagnoses treated in service area.
  • Provides skilled, timely and effective patient care.
  • Follows protocols, standards and guidelines of care relating to specific diagnosis on assigned service.
  • Plans treatment programs with the patient and treatment team.
  • Documents intervention and strategies for treatment in required organizational systems, including assessment, measurable criteria, goals method of treatment, home programs and adapting plan according to patient’s response to intervention.
  • Participates in team rounds and other educational information to patient and support systems prior to termination of therapy intervention.
  • Provide home programs and other educational information to patient and support systems prior to termination of therapy intervention.
  • Knowledge of the role of other treatment team members and effective in collaborating to enhance patient's care.
  • Coordinate patient care programs with treatment team to facilitate and enhance functional outcomes.
  • Follows billing and reimbursement procedures.
  • Complies with agency and division standards, protocols procedures
  • Participates in discipline and workgroup meetings.
  • Participates in Quality Assurance as it relates to patient care
  • Articulates and integrates safety policies and procedures into daily practice.
  • Assists in student supervision as assigned by supervisor.
  • Outpatient Musculoskeletal Clinic: Demonstrates competence completing musculoskeletal assessments according to clinic standards for the: Spine, SI Complex, Shoulder, Hip, Knee, Ankle and Foot.
  • Understands the principles of joint mobilization using graded accessory and physiological movements.
  • Demonstrates skill in applying joint mobilization principles in peripheral joints and the spine.
  • Utilizes modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, mechanical traction and surface biofeedback appropriately.
  • Analyzes movement patterns of spine and peripheral joints.
  • Identifies abnormal movement patterns and addresses in treatment plan via exercise, education, and/or manual therapy.
  • Works effectively with PTA.
  • Assigns appropriate patients, supervises treatment plan, provides PTA with necessary information.
