About The Position

The Physical Therapist at Utah Physical Therapy plays a crucial role in managing movement dysfunction, enhancing physical and functional abilities, and promoting optimal wellness, fitness, and quality of life. As a key member of our team, you will actively contribute to delivering evidence-based Physical Therapy and exceptional patient care. In addition to out-patient care, you'll engage in international travel as part of the team providing care to Olympic athletes, conducting assessments, and developing individualized treatment plans. Collaboration with the PT team to provide high-quality care and contribute to the growth of specialized programs is integral to this role.

Requirements

  • Candidates must possess a degree in Physical Therapy (MPT, MSPT, DPT) from a reputable institution with a free and clear license in Utah and other states where licensed OR obtain MPT, MSPT, DPT Degree from a reputable institution, pass PT Boards within three months of hire, and aggressively pursue license upon receipt of such. Must obtain a temporary license if you are a recent graduate.
  • Maintain/obtain current CPR for Healthcare Professionals or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Excellent communication; interpersonal, electronically, phone/text, etc.
  • Must be able to type a minimum of 40 WPM.
  • Ability to learn new computer programs.
  • Ability to navigate Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Interwebs, and varying social media outlets.
  • Excited to be at work with a respectful and caring attitude for others.
  • Maintain HIPAA, Clinic, and Patient Privacy Confidentiality.
  • Observe and follow all company policies.
  • Obtain vital signs with the ability to evaluate normal vs abnormal and perform appropriate follow-up.
  • Standing for extended periods (on your feet for up to 12 hours a day), walking, bending, lifting, and guiding patients through movements.
  • May be required to sit for long periods of time; use computer to enter data; use telephone to converse with customers and employees.
  • Physical demands of lifting and patient transfers, gait safety.
  • Regularly required to: perform repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement, feel the attributes of objects, grasp, push, and reach with arms or hands.
  • Use your body to demonstrate all exercises – Body movements, exercise equipment, reach above your head, lift from waist to above head max 15 lbs.
  • Must be able lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist.

Nice To Haves

  • Manual Therapist (COMT), OCS, etc. with experience in Con Ed / Specialty of choice (such as Concussions, Sports Med, Women's Health, Pelvic Floor)
  • Prior work experience as a Physical Therapist.
  • Strong marketing skills and experience preferred.
  • Management and/or leadership skills or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold UPT clinic reputation for delivering evidence-based Physical Therapy and exceptional patient care.
  • Actively participate in the clinic's outreach and community engagement initiatives.
  • Engage in international travel as part of the team providing care to Olympic athletes.
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients across age groups and abilities.
  • Collaborate with the PT team to provide high-quality care and contribute to the growth of specialized programs.
  • Utilize manual therapy skills and demonstrate expertise in sports medicine for the treatment of patients.
  • Prevent, assess, and treat impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities.
  • Efficiently manage patient flow and care in a busy out-patient physical therapy practice.
  • Attend 90% staff meetings and trainings throughout each calendar year.
  • All other duties as assigned.
