About The Position

TheraPeds Partners is a Colorado based, therapist-owned and operated organization. We partner with our local schools to provide Physical Therapy (PT) services to PreK–12 students nationwide. As a team of special education providers, we understand the education process, IDEA requirements, and the importance of collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Our mission is to deliver high-quality Physical Therapy (PT) services while making meaningful connections in a collaborative learning environment. This is a part-time, on-site role as an Physical Therapist (PT) serving a school located in Hayden, CO. The Physical Therapist (PT) will be responsible for providing therapy services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited university
  • State License as Physical Therapist
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in use of technology
  • Fingerprint background clearance
  • Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.

Nice To Haves

  • National License: APTA (Preferred)
  • Licensing with the State Department of Education, where required

Responsibilities

  • Identify children with deviations in physical, developmental, gross/perceptual and functional motor areas that may affect their educational program and to provide direct service as appropriate.
  • Guide therapy in determining appropriate goals, selecting treatment methods, and measuring effectiveness of intervention.
  • Use observation, standardized and non-standardized techniques as tools
  • Strong foundation in planning and implementing treatment, exercises, manual therapy within developmental therapeutic models to support students within the school setting.
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications
