About The Position

Physical Therapist (PT) Needed for Full Time, Per Diem or Contractor at a Skilled Nursing Facility in Kings Park NY! This unique and exciting job opportunity will allow you to work in Head Injury Rehabilitation, Subacute, Long term and Dementia care while collaborating with specialized care team members such as neurology, neuropsychology, physiatry, and orthopedics. Access to 3 rehabilitation gyms each with modalities, UBE, LBE, weights, walkers, matt platform. Some of TBI equipment's include tilt table, electric sit to stand assist system, walking suspension system, sensory stim modalities to assist the patient in achieving their highest level of physical mobility and strength. Requirements

  • Valid NY State PT License
  • Masters degree from an accredited physical therapy school
  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • Good organization skills
  • Good written skills

Responsibilities

  • Identify and meet patients' goals and needs
  • Offer cost-effective treatments that help improve client's motion and mobility
  • Reduce the need for medications and provide alternatives to surgery
  • Develop care plans using a variety of treatment techniques
  • Create fitness- and wellness-oriented programs tailored to patients' specific needs
  • Provide quality, personalized and evidence-based care, and proven interventions
  • Motivate patients during treatment to help them function optimally
  • Promote client's healthy lifestyle by improving strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination
  • Consult and practice with other health professionals
  • Evaluate effects and monitor and communicate progress
  • Document patient care services
