About The Position

At NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, our physical therapists utilize advanced technology and best-practice techniques to restore and maximize patient mobility. The mission of the Rehabilitation Medicine Department is to provide patient-centered, evidence-based clinical care through interdisciplinary teamwork to impact our patients and the community through a highly engaged, skilled, and empathetic team. Now, you have the opportunity to join us. Physical Therapist - PEDS/NICU Inpatient and Outpatient - Per Diem - Week Days As a pediatric Physical Therapist, you will provide high-quality care services to children aged from birth to 17 years of age. The primary goal will be to support these children in achieving developmental milestones and enhancing their overall quality of life. You will collaborate and communicate with families, caregivers, physicians, referring providers, multidisciplinary staff, and other professionals. We offer one-on-one therapies tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient. This is a per diem day shift position providing coverage 2-3 days a week, which must include a regular Monday commitment. This position includes cross-coverage to adult bedside PT as per the operational need of the service. This position including weekends and rotating holiday coverage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy
  • New York State Physical Therapy licensure
  • Knowledge of Physical Therapy practices
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy
  • American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) membership
  • At least one year of pediatric PT experience working with infants, toddlers, young children, and/or adolescents in a hospital-based setting and or outpatient setting
  • Strong knowledge of child development, sensory integration theory, and evidence-based occupational therapy interventions
  • PICU and NICU experience
