Requirements

Doctorate in Physical Therapy unless grandfathered in with a Masterâs Degree, but must be licensed to practice.
One year of related experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
Basic computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet application.
Ability to observe, evaluate, document, and communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to accept supervision and work cooperatively as a team member with coworkers as well as with the client and families.
Knowledge of disabilities and syndromes.
Ability to utilize critical thinking skills in decision making situations, good organizational and record keeping skills, and good independent judgment.
Knowledge of infant and toddler assessment and developmental activities.
Knowledge and understanding of team and family dynamics.
Ability to be flexible with scheduling and prioritization of tasks.

Responsibilities

Function independently and autonomously in providing early intervention services to infants, toddlers, and families.
Use a family-centered approach while integrating parent coaching into every session.
Provide evaluation addressing five major developmental domains including: cognitive, language, social, motor, and self-help skills.
Perform comprehensive neurological and physical assessment of infants and toddlers including muscle tone, range of motion, reflex development, and movement patterns. Identify neurological sequelae and develop and implement treatment plan based on assessment findings.
Provide updated, developmental information at scheduled IEPâs and IFSPâs and establish appropriate goals and objectives.
Independently recognize those families in crisis and provide appropriate consultation and referral regarding issues related to child abuse, domestic violence, parental stress/conflicts, and substance abuse.
Acts as a mandated reported.
Present in-service trainings to HOPE staff and provide trainings to outside agencies, on an as needed basis.
Collaborate with physicians and outside agencies regarding developmental and other health related issues.
Act as consultant to other agency professional including occupational therapists, speech- language pathologists, developmental specialists.
May perform other duties as assigned to assure efficiency of program.
