St. Charles also offers services in general surgery, colon/rectal surgery, bariatric surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, pediatrics, diagnostic imaging, emergency medicine, epilepsy, stroke care, Female Pelvic Floor Disorders Center, and a nationally accredited Sleep Disorders Center. The outpatient Physical therapist is responsible for evaluation and therapeutic intervention for persons with illnesses or injuries, that impede independent functioning of mobility, activities of daily living, cognitive thinking, and/or vocation.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's of Science in Physical Therapy. DPT preferred.
- New York State PT license and registration or valid temporary license.
- BLS Certification required
- Physical therapist must be able to evaluate and provide treatment interventions to patients with diagnoses ranging from simple orthopedic conditions to more complex neurological conditions.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced department.
- Position requires the ability to accurately and completely document in a timely manner, utilizing the electronic medical record system EPIC.
- Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Responds to physicians’ treatment orders/ prescriptions in a timely fashion.
- Performs a thorough patient evaluation and assesses the needs of the patient.
- Establishes realistic short and long-term goals in conjunction with the patient. Goals are measurable.
- Develops an appropriate and individualized plan of care for each patient and communicates with pt. and family.
