About The Position

Shriners Children’s is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Physical Therapist to join our Rehab team. The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluation and treatment of inpatients and outpatients including infants, toddlers, school age and adolescent children. Interacts with families and children of all ages in an age appropriate manner in order to foster a family-centered care environment. Supervisory responsibilities of physical therapist, occupational therapists, recreational / child life therapists, rehabilitation aides, students, and volunteers as assigned. This position is per diem, exempt and benefits eligible. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Requirements

  • Licensed in WA
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • 1 year experience in Physical Therapy

Responsibilities

  • The Physical Therapist is an integral member of the rehab team and is responsible for the administration of appropriate treatment techniques and modalities for the rehabilitation of children aged birth to 21.
  • Responsible for adherence to the scope and standards of practice as defined by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Uses creativity, professional judgment, and problem solving techniques to achieve quality outcomes and provide the highest quality of patient centered care.
  • Participates in patient and family teaching and works collaboratively with other disciplines.
  • Plays an integral role in facilitating functional performance through the integration of skill development, strength and movement, play based activities, and social-emotional development.
