Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school with a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
  • License as required by the State of Wisconsin to practice as a Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial and ongoing evaluations of residents’ strength, mobility, balance, and endurance
  • Identify barriers to independence and functional movement
  • Develop individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and daily function
  • Provide interventions for recovery from injuries, surgeries, or illnesses
  • Assist residents in performing activities of daily living (walking, dressing, transferring)
  • Implement exercises to improve coordination, flexibility, and overall physical function
  • Educate residents and staff on safe mobility and fall prevention
  • Recommend and train residents on the use of assistive devices
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nursing, OT, and SLP
  • Maintain accurate documentation to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
