Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school with a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
- License as required by the State of Wisconsin to practice as a Physical Therapist.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing evaluations of residents’ strength, mobility, balance, and endurance
- Identify barriers to independence and functional movement
- Develop individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and daily function
- Provide interventions for recovery from injuries, surgeries, or illnesses
- Assist residents in performing activities of daily living (walking, dressing, transferring)
- Implement exercises to improve coordination, flexibility, and overall physical function
- Educate residents and staff on safe mobility and fall prevention
- Recommend and train residents on the use of assistive devices
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nursing, OT, and SLP
- Maintain accurate documentation to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
