Nantucket Cottage Hospital is seeking a motivated Physical Therapist for a hospital based outpatient position that also includes part‑time coverage in acute care and the Emergency Department. This role offers a unique opportunity to build strong clinical skills across the full continuum of care, supporting patients from their first moments in the ED through their recovery in outpatient therapy. We are committed to developing therapists and enhancing our ability to care for hospital and ED patients. Your schedule will include structured mentorship modeled on the one year Massachusetts APTA mentorship program, along with dedicated professional development time. You will also have the opportunity to attend at least one EPSIG event and one APTA Massachusetts event such as the Fall Conference, SIG programs, or district events. Our outpatient caseload includes orthopedic, sports, geriatric, vestibular, and neurologic conditions. Job Summary Assist patients in reaching maximum physical performance while adjusting to disabilities. Restores Patient Physical Functioning by interpreting physical therapy evaluations and test results; determining physical therapy treatment goals and plans; administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities and in using assistive and supportive devices. Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program is required. For licensure prior to 2016, a bachelor's or master's degree is acceptable; licensure from 2016 onward requires completion of a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program.
