Job Summary The Physical Therapist staff has the responsibility to evaluate, establish a plan of care, and treat patients referred to PM&R. Job Specific Responsibilities Daily assignments may include but are not limited to: • Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of evaluation and treatment techniques/skills and therapy procedures appropriate to the age of the patient and within medical limits of the patient while taking into consideration any special precautions/contraindications the patient may have. • Complete proper documentation and billing necessary for Physical Therapy. • Participate in clinical education by functioning as a CI for PT/PTA students. • May be assigned to other specialty areas in PM&R department and expectation is that therapist will be competent in all assigned areas. • All other duties and/or assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree from an accredited physical therapist program. If PT license was received prior to 2015, prior educational requirements/criteria will be considered.
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a Texas State license.
  • Must be able to apply the theory of Physical Therapy under the bylaws of the Texas State Practice Act and the APTA Code of Ethics.
  • Ability to perform technical procedures.
  • Ability to instill confidence in patients, physicians, and other staff members.
