About The Position

As a Physical Therapist at CHI St Vincent, you will assist patients in rebuilding or maintaining their physical well-being after illness, injury, or age-related issues. You will utilize various treatments to help patients reduce pain, build strength and endurance, increase range of motion, and improve balance, enabling them to function at their optimal level. The physical therapy team handles multiple patients daily for initial evaluations, re-evaluations, and treatments, with therapists performing most treatments themselves. You will work with diverse patient backgrounds, including orthopedic injury/surgery recovery, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and balance conditions. The work environment is described as busy and fast-paced, fostering a collaborative and supportive team where members offer help, advice, and mentoring. Success in this role requires being a team player, collaborating with other therapists, patients, and their families to achieve the best treatment outcomes. You should be personable, positive, and motivated to deliver quality care to a wide range of patients daily.

Requirements

  • Six month internship which is part of Physical Therapy School, upon hire
  • Entry Level Master’s program, upon hire or 1 year Internship which is part of DPT program, upon hire
  • Must have two years’ experience and demonstrated leadership to act as area supervisor or weekend supervisor
  • Physical Therapist: AR, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Work with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and therapists to develop and execute a treatment plan for each patient
  • Perform initial patient evaluations as well as re-evaluations to indicate the level of progress
  • Document all treatments and note any status changes
  • Tailor treatments to individual patients as needed - don’t be afraid to think creatively or do a little extra
  • Seek new learning opportunities and be a resource when others need to learn from you
  • Consistently offer the best care possible to every patient
