Provides in-service for hospital staff. Performs administrative duties. Plans and implements Performance Improvement Program. Provides physical therapy treatment as prescribed by physician.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy or Graduate of an accredited program in Physical Therapy.
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a Physical Therapist.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
  • Physical Therapist License.
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification or completed in the first 90 days of employment.
  • First Aid Program or completed in the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the Medical Director to establish goals and objectives and develop policies and procedures for the Physical Therapy Department in accordance with standards established by the hospital and profession.
  • Establishes standards for patients' participation in physical therapy following appropriate guidelines of the profession.
  • Is knowledgeable in and utilizes proper physical therapy modalities following established protocol for these modalities. Directs patients in use and care of wheelchair, walker, crutches, canes and other prosthetic and orthopedic devices.
  • Supervises personnel in performance of duties to evaluate efficiency, skill, abilities and attitudes toward fellow workers and patients. trains and orients new personnel.
  • Oversees scheduling patients for treatment on a daily basis and ensures proper billing.
  • Introduces and demonstrates new techniques. Plans and develops new programs for the department. Evaluates all treatment and reporting methods of the department.
  • Ensures adequate inventory and that all equipment is operating properly. Requisitions new equipment.
  • Works with the Medical Director to develop and monitor departmental budgets.
  • Records and reports inpatient progress weekly. Communicates and reports to referring physicians, as necessary.
  • Maintains departmental policies and procedures, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Attends meetings as required.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
