About The Position

The Physical Therapist evaluates, administers, and directs the administration of therapies utilized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as prescribed by a referring practitioner. The primary goal is to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part. The Physical Therapist helps patients reach maximum performance levels and plans therapy involving therapeutic exercises, functional mobility training including bed mobility, transfer, and gait training. They utilize various mechanical and electrical equipment, manual therapy, and prosthetic and orthotic devices. Additionally, the Physical Therapist evaluates, records, and reports on patient progress, establishes goals of physical therapy, and re-assesses the patient’s progress at regular, timely intervals, supporting findings with appropriate documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • License/Registration issued by Florida or a Compact State as a Physical Therapist.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • One (1) year of Hospital Clinical experience.
