The Physical Therapist/Vestibular Therapist is responsible for evaluating/assessing needs of referred post-concussion syndrome patients and formulating treatment plans. In addition to orthopedic therapy treatment disciplines, the Vestibular Therapist will have a strong clinical interest in and experience with sport concussion management. This position provides therapy services defined in treatment plans and works cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and adjustors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• One year previous orthopaedic and manual therapy experience, preferred.
• Licensed Physical Therapist within the state of Colorado. Must be in good standing.
• Current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, required.
• Core competencies in job knowledge, communication, customer service, planning/organizing, quantity, and confidentiality.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willing to travel to multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates the extent of the patient’s disabilities to determine appropriate treatment programs.
• Administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment on patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint, and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability.
• Reviews physician's referral (prescription) and patient's condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.
• Records treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enters information into computer.
• Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
