About The Position

This role combines clinical expertise with operational leadership, ensuring that therapy services are consistent, effective, and aligned with organizational priorities. The supervisor promotes team growth through coaching, feedback, and collaboration while maintaining a strong presence in patient care. They work closely with families, clinical staff, and leadership to coordinate services, optimize outcomes and create an environment focused on excellence, compliance, and compassion. With a deep understanding of pediatric therapy needs and a commitment to continuous improvement, this position ensures that all CRIT patients receive the support they need to thrive across all settings. WORKING CONDITIONS General office and active working conditions. Requiring extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Ability to exert a light degree of physical effort including carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking and the assisted lifting of objects and materials up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and distance vision. Limited exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, odors, humidity, temperature and noise extremes, wetness and vibrations. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to reach, bend, and use 2-step stool while safely lifting and lowering boxes. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy
  • 5 + years of PT experience (pediatric setting preferred)
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience
  • Current Texas Physical Therapy License
  • Registration with the National Board for Certification in Physical Therapy
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Criminal background check

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and supervision to physical therapy staff, ensuring clinical quality, compliance, and professional development within the department.
  • Provides comprehensive physical therapy services and techniques in accordance with existing standards of practice and ethical principles of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
  • Evaluates and re-evaluates as required, performs special tests and measures, develops and implements individualized treatment plans, monitors patient progress and evaluates treatment results.
  • Collaborates with families and interdisciplinary team to communicate information, resolve issues and provide services in compliance with established guidelines.
  • Implements therapeutic treatment based on established protocols, plan of care and prescriptions.
  • Develops physical therapy programs and provides guidance to team members.
  • Participates in the educational and training programs for patients, family members and staff.
  • Serves as a liaison between the physical therapy department and management team.
  • Leads team performance through mentorship, regular feedback, and monitoring of clinical and operational standards.
  • Ensures the department operations and services promote high quality and coordinated services.
  • Assists direct supervisor in planning, organizing and ensuring that the overall operations and services promote high quality and coordinated services, responsive to the needs of patients, family members, staff, and other departments.
  • Educates and serves as an advocate for patients and their family members throughout the continuum of care.
  • Responsible for the utilization and supervision of students, support staff, assistants and therapists working in their area relating to the provision of physical therapy services.
  • Identifies staff training needs and coordinates continuing education opportunities to support licensure and clinical advancement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
