About The Position

The primary role of the physical therapist is to establish, direct, prescribe, and communicate care needs between physical, occupational, and speech therapies for the emergency department, medical/surgical floor, intensive care unit, outpatient surgery department, and long-term acute care department to parties directly in charge of patient care and needs. The physical therapist will assume autonomous responsibility for evaluating patient’s need for physical therapy. Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of a Doctorate’s or previously equivalent professional Physical Therapy training program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Required: Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy
  • FSBPT Certification.
  • State of Michigan Physical Therapist License or eligible to obtain licensure prior to hire date.
  • American Heart Association BLS or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Providing treatment and services within the scope of their license, certification or registration and as required by law and regulation.
  • Evaluation and clinical diagnosis of patient conditions.
  • Establish treatment goals utilizing input from patient and their family as appropriate
  • Documentation remains in accordance with established internal/external timeliness standards, insurance standards, and reimbursement guidelines.
  • Participates as a part of an interdisciplinary and patient-centered care team which includes the verbal and written exchange of information with other healthcare team members as it pertains to integrate a physical therapy treatment plan
