About The Position

Adventist HealthCare Outpatient Rehabilitation is hiring Physical Therapists (PT) in Fort Washington and Silver Spring, Maryland. We're seeking therapists who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. As a Physical Therapist (PT), you will perform an initial examination and evaluation to establish an impairment/diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care prior to intervention for all persons served with basic rehabilitation needs in acute care, outpatient, or inpatient rehabilitation settings. You will provide, or direct and supervise, the therapy intervention consistent with the results of the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care. The therapist involves the patient/client and appropriate others in the planning, implementation, and assessment of the plan of care. You will also communicate, coordinate, and document all aspects of patient/client management including the results of the initial examination and evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, interventions, response to interventions, barriers to progress, changes in patient/client status relative to the interventions, reexamination, and discharge/discontinuation of intervention and other patient/client management activities with members of the care team as indicated.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (required) or DPT
  • Active Maryland PT license required
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Responsibilities

  • Perform an initial examination and evaluation to establish an impairment/diagnosis, prognosis and plan of care prior to intervention for all persons served.
  • Provide, or direct and supervise, the therapy intervention consistent with the results of the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care.
  • Plan for discharge of the patient/client in consultation with appropriate disciplines, considering achievement of anticipated goals and expected outcomes.
  • Communicate, coordinate and document all aspects of patient/client management with members of the care team.
  • Supervise and direct the patient care activities of assigned rehab aides, office assistants and volunteers.
  • Manage schedule to accommodate range in census and patient load and inform management of any issues with caseload management.
  • Attend team meetings and effectively communicate patient status.
  • Be responsible for individual professional development activities.
