About The Position

The Physical Therapist (PT) position is primarily outpatient, focusing on orthopedics with opportunities to develop specialty skills. The role is part-time, requiring 20 hours weekly, typically scheduled on Tuesday, Thursday, and/or Friday, with one evening shift until 6:30 PM. The position is located in Menomonee Falls, WI, with potential additional shifts at Aurora Medical Center Washington County, which may include approximately 6-8 weekends per year. The role involves interpreting physician referrals, establishing treatment plans, monitoring patient outcomes, and ensuring proper documentation and patient care.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months.
  • Physical Therapist license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • No experience required.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets physician referrals and completes evaluations utilizing appropriate methods.
  • Establishes a plan of care and implements individual treatment based on evaluation results and functional goals.
  • Monitors and evaluates outcomes and adjusts the treatment plan based on patient response.
  • Plans for and completes patient discharge, providing written home programs and referrals for community services.
  • Completes all required documentation following department policy.
  • Responsible for cleaning up after patient treatment and keeping the area neat and orderly.
  • Demonstrates skill in the use of modalities and exercise equipment.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Manages assigned caseload and informs site leadership of coverage needs.
  • Pursues professional growth through continuing education and departmental inservices.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.
