Ambulatory Health Care Services

Provides Physical Therapy services to patients of all ages including adolescents, adults and geriatric patients who are referred; Evaluates the Physical Therapy needs of the patient; Develops goals and treatment plan in conjunction with the patient and family/significant other; Implements treatment program; Provides education to patients, families and caregivers; Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants, students and support staff in compliance with hospital and state regulatory policies.

  • Provides Physical Therapy services to patients of all ages.
  • Evaluates the Physical Therapy needs of the patient.
  • Develops goals and treatment plan in conjunction with the patient and family/significant other.
  • Implements treatment program.
  • Provides education to patients, families and caregivers.
  • Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants, students and support staff.
  • Bachelor of Science, Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from a Physical Therapy program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • License and/or eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist from the Department of Health, Division of Professional Regulation, State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.
  • Access to reliable transportation in order to service off site locations.
  • BLS Required.
  • One year experience preferred.
  • Physical Therapy theory, patient assessment and treatment techniques.
  • Skills in organization, time management and priority setting.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with peers and other disciplines.
  • Ability to utilize sound interpersonal skills when interacting with patients and demonstrating sensitivity to age, spiritual and cultural diversity of customers.
  • Ability to instruct patients and their families.
