About The Position

The Physical Therapist (PT) - Acute Care Weekend Program at Advocate Sherman Hospital is a part-time position requiring a commitment to work a minimum of 20 hours each weekend. The role involves interpreting physician referrals, establishing treatment plans, and completing patient evaluations. The position includes a weekend program differential and requires working two 10-hour shifts on Fridays and Saturdays. The PT will also be responsible for patient discharge planning, documentation, and maintaining productivity standards. The role requires participation in performance improvement activities and may involve supervising physical therapy assistants and students.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
  • Physical Therapy License in the State of Illinois or Wisconsin.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 90 days.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets physician referrals and completes evaluations.
  • Establishes and implements individual treatment plans based on evaluations.
  • Monitors and evaluates treatment outcomes, adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Plans for and completes patient discharge, providing home programs and referrals.
  • Completes required documentation following department policy and accreditation standards.
  • Maintains site/department established productivity standards.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Pursues professional growth through continuing education and in-services.
  • May supervise physical therapy assistants and students.
