About The Position

The Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients to maintain or restore patients to their maximum functional performance level and completes discharge planning.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy
• Licensed by the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy

Nice To Haves

• Masters Degree in Physical Therapy
• Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy
• Adult and/or geriatric therapy experience

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and develops plan of care according to American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) guidelines
• Administers physical therapy treatments appropriate to diagnosis and to APTA guidelines
• Completes discharge planning according to APTA guidelines by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care conferences
• Documents and charges for patient care services by charting in patient and department records according to federal, state, and local regulations
• Protects patients, employees, and visitors by promoting infection-control and safety policies and protocols
• Meets productivity standards
• Ensures operation of equipment, follows manufacturer's instructions; troubleshoots malfunctions and reports the need for repair to supervisor
• Supervises Licensed Physical Therapy Assistants, Rehab Aides, other support staff, and students
• Other duties as assigned
