About The Position

The position is for a Physical Therapist on a per diem basis within the Out Patient Physical Rehab Services at the NCH Wellness Center located in Arlington Heights, IL. The role requires the therapist to work on Saturdays from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. The hourly pay range is between $38.67 and $59.94, determined by the candidate's expertise and years of experience. The therapist will be responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients, implementing treatment plans based on patient evaluations, and ensuring optimal patient care through collaboration with other healthcare professionals. The role also involves patient education, documentation, and participation in departmental programs and meetings.

Requirements

  • Completion of a degree in Physical Therapy from an A.P.T.A. accredited school or equivalent.
  • Current Illinois licensure or eligibility.
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to assess, treat, and care for patients.
  • Implements assessment/treatment/care based on the developmental stages of the patient.
  • Interprets verbal and nonverbal communication of the patient.
  • Evaluates patient’s functional abilities/disabilities utilizing appropriate techniques.
  • Establishes treatment plans specifying treatment goals and modalities.
  • Administers and instructs patients in the performance of treatment plans.
  • Prepares and completes all patient records, billing, and documentation.
  • Communicates and cooperates with physicians, nursing, and other staff.
  • Involves patients, families, and caregivers in the care plan.
  • Conducts patient/family education sessions and provides self-directed programs.
  • Assists with supervision of paraprofessional staff, students, and volunteers.
  • Utilizes correct body mechanics and adheres to safety precautions.
  • Assists with planning and conducting in-service programs and participates in staff meetings.
  • Assumes responsibility for own professional growth and keeps abreast of developments in the field.
  • Participates in departmental Quality Assurance Program and special assignments.
