Join Vanderbilt Health’s nationally recognized Pediatric Outpatient Physical Therapy team and provide compassionate, evidence‑based care to infants, children, and young adults (birth–21 years). Nationally recognized leader in pediatric healthcare Collaborative, interdisciplinary outpatient setting Evidence‑based practice with access to advanced treatment approaches Supportive culture focused on clinical excellence and patient‑centered care What You’ll Do Provide individualized, evidence‑based pediatric physical therapy for patients with orthopedic and developmental diagnoses Treat a broad pediatric population, from infancy through young adulthood Collaborate with physicians, PTs, SLPs, OTs, and other specialists to deliver coordinated care Educate patients and families on therapy goals, home exercise programs, and long‑term functional strategies Utilize My Health at Vanderbilt (MyChart) for care coordination and documentation Document care in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and professional standards Participate in departmental initiatives, quality improvement efforts, and mentorship as needed Support students and new team members as appropriate

Requirements

  • Licensed (or license‑eligible) Physical Therapist in the state of Tennessee
  • Pediatric physical therapy experience required
  • Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to family‑centered, pediatric care

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with orthopedic and developmental populations strongly preferred
  • Experience with Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes comprehensive information from formal and informal assessment that is pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine a rehabilitation treatment diagnosis.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the rehabilitation continuum.
  • Applies appropriate, evidence-based interventions to ensure effective outcomes and re-evaluates performance to assess patient's progress towards goals.
  • Employs strategies to promote successful return to home, community, and school/vocational environments.
